IK’s Open End Water Stop ROV Plugs are highly recommended for temporary plugging applications. The plugs are based on the same concept as a batching / cleaning pig. Both the sealing and the mechanical fixation is based on two sealing discs. The discs are slightly oversized and will facilitate a gentle squeeze onto the internal pipeline wall giving sealing and mechanical support.  The plugs are well fit for reuse and is deployed and recovered by the ROV in just a few minutes. The sealing capacity cannot be guaranteed. The disc sealing will depend on the actual surface conditions of the inner pipe.

General Function & Application

• ROV installable (and recovery) with no special tooling (purely manip. operated), preferably "tight fit seal" stab-in with no tightening or torque operation ( “Push-in & Pull-out” )
• No pressure differential holding capacity required
• Multiple plug and unplug operations to be possible
• Approx. 6 months’ design life
• Available for horizontal or vertical applications
• The plugs are manufactured in plastic / POM and is close to neutral in seawater as the density of the plastic material is just above 1
